Course Goals / Objectives:
Thoroughly understand the fundamental concepts of vector mechanics of particles and rigid bodies in motion including an introduction to vibrations
Determine relationships between velocity and acceleration of constrained moving bodies
Determine relationships between forces acting on a body and its motion using Newton's laws, energy methods, and impulse/momentum methods
Determine natural frequencies and forced response of undamped mechanical systems
Develop a systematic approach to solving problems, including careful sketching, precise mathematical notation, clear presentation of solution, and computer generated plotting of results
