Course Goals / Objectives:
Understand the role of highway function and classification as it relates to geometric design
Learn how to use design controls and criteria to evaluate the interactive roles of the driver, the vehicle and the roadway, as they relate to geometric design
Learn the design standards as they relate to rural and urban highway systems
Be required to use CAD software in the development of several assignments and in the final team design project
Be required to develop a final report with regard to their team design and to make an oral presentation of their project
