Course Goals / Objectives:
Understand systems concepts and the role of mathematical modeling in urban transportation management
Develop skills to analyze open-ended technical problems related to the management of complex transportation systems including surveillance and monitoring, performance forecasting, and real-time traveler information provision and control
Develop skills to critique existing management systems and work with data sets to analyze realistic and actual management problems
Recognize that the state-of-the-art is evolving and that they, as students, are potential contributors to the development of the field
Develop effective report writing skills
